Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
As our Regional Sales Manager (RSM) for Mettler-Toledo Process Analytics (PRO) you will have direct management responsibilities for a team of independent manufacturer’s representatives. This position is responsible for exceeding regional targets in all market segments, with primary focus on biopharma and life sciences. Other segments include food & beverage, chemical, and power. You will use excellent value selling, product, and application technical knowledge and business development skills.

You will ensure your territory exceeds targets and business objectives through supporting sales efforts requiring up to 75% overnight travel due to size of territory. This region includes northern California, Oregon, Washington, Reno, Nevada, northern Idaho, Alaska, and Hawaii.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Establishing yourself as a trusted advisor with the customer base by analyzing customer pain points, mastering product & application knowledge, and differentiating PRO from the competition.
  • Proactively penetrating accounts and generating business at new sites.
  • Developing and executing a strategic territory plan to include the methodology needed to achieve sales growth including all sales and related activities, i.e., lead generation, cold calling, nurturing, product demonstrations, sales calls, organizing and presenting technical seminars, application feasibility tests, perform demonstrations for products and coordinating customer support.

What You Need to Succeed
We are seeking an energetic, analytical and performance-driven professional with strong execution abilities. Your skills in developing and maintaining relationships with key customers while holding a high level of integrity, commitment, and ethics will ensure your success.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science or equivalent experience.
  • Strong affinity for biopharmaceutical applications (Upstream, Downstream, Utilities).
  • Familiar with GMP and regulated environments.
  • 5+ years of experience with liquid analytical instrumentation and/or water purification equipment.
  • 3+ years’ experience in managing manufacturer’s representatives or direct sales personnel.
  • Alternatively, 5+ years biopharma industry experience (Automation, Metrology, Process Engineering, etc.) coupled with strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in presentation execution, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 75%.
  • MUST live near a major airport, ideally San Francisco Bay area, Portland, or Seattle.
